Short lived fear

Stumbling around gopher in my pyjamas this morning I saw an inline picture [1]. Before snapping my laptop shut in wretched fear, I checked to see if the sky had darkened. It hadn't, so what is this infamous devilry?  Turns out it's a markdown file, and as I'm running Chawan in Kitty it automatically displays .md files with image content. Phew, I almost ran to church.
