Not gopher but minimalist

I hadn't noticed that  Greycoder had updated their  minimalist news
sites  list in  august. Ok  it's not  the minimalist  perfection of
Gopher, but it  has the merit of existing. However some don't work,
some require javascript.  It  also  only  lists only English sites.

Is this a dying form? 

It would  be  great to  see similiar lists, and in other languages. 
If you know of any I'd love to hear of them. But I wonder if a more
aggressive stance should be held by scraping and filtering  through
rdrview for example. If sites can't be bothered maybe we should  do
it for them.
