Kitty and utf-8 icons

Ghostty gave up the ghost this week and I'm unable to fix it. 
On the Artix forum @artist gave me the following reply:  

  It might also be some 'feature change'.
  Be warned the ghostty devs remove features without notice, 
  denying these ever existed while they are still in the 
  documentation. They do not accept bugs, only discussions, 
  and act as the chosen ones while praying to their god Mitchell
  Hashimoto, and becoming aggressive when asked about the 
  future of any feature.
  Also note ghostty is already depending on systemd 
  in several areas.

Clear enough! 
So I tried Kitty, Alacritty, and urxvt. 
Only Kitty supports utf-8 emojiis correctly, so Kitty it is.

If you aren't  seeing the French flag on the  main page, and you're
using  the  Kitty  terminal,  try  installing the Noto or Joypixels 
truetype fonts.

  pacman -S noto-fonts-emoji
  yay -S ttf-joypixels

I have the v17 emoji-test file in my sandbox you can  use  to  test:
