Gopher complaint

Ok, I have to say it, the gopher txt format is great except for one
thing: the lack of links in phlogs.

Yes, you can make a bazillion  directories with a gophermap in each
and thus obtain links, but it's not serious.

If a browser like Lynx is  used, you could use simple html instead.
But if  you do this, you  might as well drop  gopher completely and
use a static page web server.

So ideally Gopher needs a browser  that accepts at least gopher and
html  links,  because  let's  face  it  html  is  omnipresent,  and
linkifies links in text files.

I'm not  a real  programmer, but  wouldn't it  be great  if someone
looked at  the Lynx source  code and came  up with a  solution like
this?
